Planning for a wedding? Forget the typical wedding show with the pipe and drape, banner stands, and crowded venues with fluorescent lighting. This February, savvy brides, grooms, and their wedding parties will be able to experience wedding-like scenarios around the city put together by a collective of the top wedding professionals, suppliers and venues in Greater Victoria.
Signature venues like The Fairmont Empress, Inn at Laurel Point, Villa Marco Polo, The Superior (Feb 2) and Oak Bay Beach Hotel, Hatley Castle at Royal Roads University, Sooke Harbour House (Feb 3) will be creating a unique wedding showcase at each location, featuring all of the members of the Victoria Wedding Collective, from florists to photographers, caterers, fashion experts, designers, musicians, calligraphers, artists, planners and more. Ticket holders will have from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to “walk” their way to each venue and enjoy experiencing first hand what each venue and collective members have to offer. At each venue, participants will be able to taste the food, smell the flowers, hear the music, and fully imagine how their own weddings could play out in such a setting.
“The Victoria Wedding Walk is all about exploration, discovery and inspiration, within the very venues that could become the perfect location for your wedding,” says Smart. “The Victoria Wedding Collective has been chosen based on their proven ability to deliver outstanding work with the utmost professionalism when creating and being an integral part of a wedding or special celebration.”
Tickets for the Victoria Wedding Walk are $45 per person and may be purchased online at EventBrite. These tickets are a two-day pass for exploring signature venues and curated suppliers, planners and experts who together make up the Victoria Wedding Collective.
